A butler named Sebastian, served a noble family called Phantomhive. Sebastian is talented in everything, be it dancing, fighting or even badysitting his young master. Sebastian made a contract with his young master to be his loyal servant with an exchange of his soul. If you looked carefully at Sebastian, he has got a dark and dull skin, like a zombie's complex. This storyline have not shown clearly, mostly is about Sebastian and his young master. It is quite funny at times, when Sebastian deal with the other servants of the house. The fighting scenes are good too, worth it to watch. Sebastian is one of the hell butler~~ :) Fear him.

Blood The Last Vampire

This is the film which Blood plus adapted from. The Saya in this film is much more fierce and cold towards humans. She's the last original vampire from her family during AD 1892. She worked for a special US agent, slashing chiropterans with her katana [samuria sword]. This film is pretty short about 40 miuntes long, the storyline is very straight forward. In this film, Saya was sent to a japanese school in US to kill two chiropterans. However, a sensei was involved during her kills. She witnessed everything, and was dragged into this mess. During her fights with the two chiropterans, more chiropterans were spotted. Not one but 3 more! How will Saya managed her fight with a spade as her katana was broken into two. Will Saya saves the sensei and kills all the chiropterans? By the way, Saya sort of hates God.

5 Centimeters Per Second

One word, AWESOME! A 90 minutes film by Makoto Shinkai. Another beautiful work from him again! This film is broken up into three chapters, describing the days of the Tohno and Akira.

Chapter one: Takaki Tohno and Akari Shinohara were elementary school classmates in Tokyo. Both of them have weak bodies, hence their playground became the libray. They share the same hobbies and were always together. On the last day of school, they were viewing cherry blossoms. Akari's last word to Tohno was 'let's watch cherry blossoms next year.' She went to a far away to study due to her family. While Tohno continues his junior high school in Tokyo. Tohno never recieve any word from Akira until she sent a letter to him. Since then they were exchanging letters, and Akira was informed that on the 3rd semester Tohno will transfer to another school which made them even more far far away from each other. Tohno decided to look for Akira, making plans and saving up just to travel over to her side. Both promised to meet at 7pm at the station waiting room. Soon on that day, Tohno begins his journey, unexpecting that the railway trains kept delaying. Which made Akira and Tohno to wait eternally for each other. Will Tohno continue to travel there? And will Akira perservere to wait for her best friend in elementary school?

Chapter two: Tohno keep typing messages on his phone but never send them. What is he thinking? Unknowingly attracting a girl, Sumida, with his charms in his class. Spending their junior high and high school together as classmates, while Akira was waiting for him ever since they last met. Sumida wanted to confess to Tohno after she managed to surf on the waves. Trying hard to speak up, but she understands that Tohno actually never look at her. Always looking far away and desiring for something. Sumida gave up on confessing yet helplessly loving him.

Chapter three: Both Akira and Tohno were adults now. Akira had a ring on her finger, who has she married to? At times both of them thought that they have seen each other outside, passing by each other or just happened to glance through each other. What happens next? Their only common memories was the cherry blossoms, the speed of the cherry petals were 5cm per second.

Blue Drop Tenshitachi no Gikyoku

It was inspired by the manga Blue Drop. However, the storylines are different. In the anime, Aliens went to observe the earthlings, the alien's craft had an accident and exploded. Leaving the island's residents to die and were reconsidered that half of them murdered each other. Fortunately, there's a was a girl who live through, she is Maria. She has lost her memories and then forced by her grandma to a girls boarding school.

On the first day, Maria met another girl who was the assistance president of her dorm, Sengoku Hagino. When they first met, Hagino were in fear and tried to struggle Maria. Since then, Maria always had misunderstanding with her while others admired Hagino as their model student. Soon, Maria slowly found out the secret of Hagino. How would Hagino explain herself and her situation? While Maria always felt she had met Hagino before in the past. What will happen to them while the aliens are about to invade the earth very soon!

As for yuri, not too much but it's always exciting to wait for them when they are about to do it! Although, it disappoints you at times. :) 3.0 eyecandies out of 5 :)

Blood Plus aka Blood +

This is adapted by a film, titled Blood: The Last Vampire. The series begin with this girl who do high jumps in school. She is Saya, she has a best friend who accompaines her with her trainnings. Saya is adopted by a owner of a resturant. He have two other kids who were adopted by him too.

Saya encounters with a chiropteran in school at night and witnessed the death of her sensei [teacher]. Saya fled for her life and met her chevalier, Hagi, in the classroom. Hagi passed Saya a samurai sword to kill the chiropteran. However, Saya shivers in fear while Hagi took the kill.

Saya have special blood flowing inside her veins which crystalised chiropteran by dripping the blood on them. However, Saya will drip her blood on her speacially designed sword and slash these human killers. Before she take on her duty again, she had a hard time regaining her past. What she has done in the Vietamn war? Why is she in Japan? Why do she needs to have blood transmission weekly? Saya will be forced to be seperated from her family and best friend. Now, she has a mission to look for her twin sister, Diva, and take her life, while encountering Diva's chevaliers. What will awaits Saya and Hagi? Death or happiness?

Chevalier: They are the bodyguards of Saya and Diva. Only when both of them allows a human to drink their blood. The human will process lightning speed and great strength.

Chiropteran: Humans turned into hulk-like creatures. Huge and powerful, however, chevaliers process much more powerful abilities. These creatures are hungered for human blood, hence killing innocence humans.

The Place Promised In Our Early Days

A 90 minutes anime film, directed by Makoto Shinkai of She and her Cat.It is taken place in Japan, Ezo also known as Hokkiado. It is about two buddies, Hiroki Fujisawa and Takuya Shirakawa, and a girl, Sayuri Sawatari. The three are in 8th grade , their last year of middle school, and they are fascinated by the Hokkaido Tower visible across the Tsugaru Strait to the north. Shirakawa is a ice skater in school, while Fujisawa goes to archery club. And Sawatari plays violin. In the holidays the buddies went to work in the military factory, they build guided missiles. However, they also build a personal plane with scraps of metals, in order to fly to Tsugaru Strait. After some events, Sawatari was involved in this dream to fly over too. However, after they graduated their dreams scattered. Lifes of theirs changed, Fujisawa and Shirakawa went in their individual paths. And Sawatari was missing. The plot starts from here, let's head to Tsugaru Straits for more thrills!I bet you will not be able to perdict the ending when you watch it for awhile. By the way, there's always background music which makes it more unique! Muscial~~ :)

UFOs? Unidentify Flying Objects. Do you believe in such things? Yes, i do believe in them. The earth is huge. The space is vast. What's else is out there? Aliens? All i know was there are something else other than planets in the space. All right, let's not talk about aliens, what about black holes. Spotted but yet to be explored. Mermaids? Is it just a fairy tale just as simple? What about mermaid bones?

How about creatures deep under the sea? Many weird looking sea creatures are yet to identify, do we still call them animals or monsters?

In the models world, there is a famouse twin brothers. The elder twin has silver eyes while the younger one has green eyes. Lele somehow managed to communiate with them at times. In later days, Lele went to Japan to shoot for her new image. However, during the trip there her grandma had a fall. This had affected Lele's feelings, how will she able to overcome this crisis?

Jigoku Shoujo

Now we have the manga series which was adapted later from the anime series and i find it not too bad. However, Enma Ai looks too decent in the manga. Emotional wise, i don't feel the sorrows from her eyes and expression. She looks cheerful in the manga, this is how i felt. I only read the first chapter of it. So it might change in the later chapters. By the way, from the first chapter which i had read it don't seems to have the same story line as the anime. Give it a try for chapter one if you haven't seen the anime before.

It is about a city which lives only ghosts, only the good ones. There's only one human in this city, named Akina. He had inherited the duty of 'tuning' from his family. Let me explain what is 'tuning', Akina sends those bad ghosts to another world using 'tuning'. How it works, is something you gonna find out yourself in the anime. :) Right now he has got 4 person working with him in order to maintian the peace in the city. Here's the cast, Hime is a dargon's reborn, a orge, a woman who manipulaties things from words and a weird human with ears and uses it as satelite. And the story goes as a bad ghost wants to destory the peace of the city by destorying the barrier of the city.

She and her Cat

It's a interesting short film, length 5 minutes only. But feel the soul of this work from Makoto Shinkai. 'She' as the master of the 'Cat' and the 'Cat' as her cat. This 'Cat' sort of narrating his and his master's life. How he felt over his master and the life of his master. This 'Cat' even gave up his lover for his master. It's funny in some sense, but nice in overall. Worth it for your 5 mintues.

A muscial anime, involves piano, violin, flute, and others. Chiaki Shinichi is the son of a famous pianist. He attends a top music college in Japan. He have great talents in music, enough for him to be arrogant and popular among the girls. Shinichi studies piano as his majors, however, piano isn't what he got only. And he dreams to be a conductor and study under Vieira Sensei.

Shinichi stays besides a annoying girl who studies piano at the same school. She is Noda Megumi, others address her as Nodame. She is horrible at house keeping, that's includes herself. She could wore a same dress and not bathing for days. She lives in a trash house which had irritated Shinichi. He just went to her apartment and clean it all the mess. It is hilarious just watching him clearing those things up. Shinichi found himself getting more troubles after doing this. Nodame proclaimed to be his girlfriend and goes to his apartment and begged for food. Shinichi cooks good food despite his looks and character. He found that Nodame had great talents for piano but she's playing trash out of it. The story starts as Shinichi wants to groom Nodame.

Nodame Cantabile: Paris-Hen

A second season, to the Paris! Finally, both of them flies together aboard to study. After the secret of Shinichi was discovered by Nodame and solved by her. More weird stuffs from Nodame and more beautiful music from both of them. Shinichi decided to participate in a conducting competition before he wants to find Vieira Sensei. Afterall, he just want to be known by the others first. And Nodame as an otaku [anime mania], watching her beloved anime in Paris and forced by Shinichi to learn french. Just because she ordered dozens of snails from the french menu, which had irritated Shinichi again and again. Nodame is further studying her piano with the support of a judge who calls Nodame Bebe-chan [i don't understand too], when she went for a competition just for the prize [2 millions yens]. However, she plays real well in the competition, despite being a money face. hahaha :)

It's about a girl called Enma Ai, who is the hell girl. She have three followers; a sword, a lady, a soldier. Ai has a very vague past to begin with. This anime shows shorts stories of humans cursing each other and Ai's past are reviewed in bits and pieces. In this season, it is rumoured if you truely hold a grudge on someone, at the stroke of twelve midnight you will be able to access the website of hell girl's. Ai's followers are used as cursed straw dolls, a red string is tied to it's neck. You made a contract with Ai after you pulled the string. However, two graves will be dug and one will be for youself after you died. Your soul will suffer in hell for eternal. Ai's past were dug out by a freelance reporter who has a daughter. His daughter is able to foresee who are going to set a curse. This part it was not explained clearly, only stating that Ai was the one who tells this girl in her sub conscience. This reporter wants to stop Ai from doing such actions and tried to track down her using his daughter. Surprisely, the past which he had found out was sending others to hell had started in the olden days. In a interesting way, newspaper advertisement was used. The advertisement will be appeared blank to 'normal' peopler. However, it was rumored that if you truely hold a grudge on someone, the advertisement will appear visble to you. A address will be seen. All you need is to send a letter of your cursed name into the post using that address. And Ai will fulfil your wish.

Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori = Hell girl Second Cage = 地獄少女 二籠

A second season, Kikuri a new character who follows Ai around. A troublesome kid which Ai's followers dislike due to her foul mouth. Kikuri is concerned about Jigoku Shoujo and Jigoku Tenshi, some what like a spy. Nobody knows where she came from and her past too. In this season, Ai's followers's past are reviewed. Lastly, the unexpected ending awaits for Ai.

Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae = 地獄少女 三鼎

Ai is back. From second season, Ai was dead in the end. The first episode was 'The Girl who was Taken'. When i first watched it, i was confused. Ai was in another school girl's body. And her followers were recuited back by Kikuri. They were living in a peaceful lives as souls. The soldier worked as a construction worker, the lady as bartender and the sword was a bathroom cleaner. Now a new male character appears out of no where again. And he addressed Kikuri as Hime [princess] because Kikuri wants him to do so. How Ai will continue her story? It's a mystery.

Anti-Smoking Campaign Successful?

Issue: Graphic television advertisements


A brief introduce on this issue, Singapore Health Promotion Board [SHPB] has introduced graphic television advertisements in march 2007 onwards. screening advertisements which shows after effects of smoking.

please note, i am stating the points only.

Fristly, those advertisements screening after effects of
smoking had gave me an hard impact. The graphics were good,
they looked real. It scares people just looking at it, most
non-smokers would probably not to take up smoking. And smokers
may consider to quit it after see those. However, how far an
extend smokers will quit it, citizens like don't know.

Secondly, an quote from the advertisements; 'Quitting is hard.
Not quitting, is harder.' Just this sentence alone gives us a
clear understanding that SHPB wants smokers to quit and 'extend
their life span'.

Lastly, i felt that these advertisements should be rated NC-13
[No children under 13yrs]. These graphic advertisements are
unsuited for younger children. Bits and pieces of skins and
gore [make ups] are shown clearly on the television. Childrens
may be afraid and gets nightmares, in worse cases, they may get
a trauma on smoking. It be good if they don't smoke because of
this. But we can't deny there may be cases where trauma gets
worse, a kid may get a shock whenever he/she sees someone
smokes. The kid may develop 自避症 and his/her life will be
affect. Thus, have SHPB considered about this possiblity?
Just a doubt, if SHPB really wants smokers to quit. Why aren't the government stop importing cigrettes which will solve the root problem. I understand, it's part of Singapore's revenue.However, their actions contridict their goal. If the government wish for the best for every citizens, a smoke-free country should be worked out. Singapore could earn from other areas.
